Marketing Intern (Shopify Experience Preferred)

About Kinner Beauty Wigs:

Our story started with Cancer Kinship a non-profit that empowers the cancer community to confidently face the disease. Our Kinner Beauty Wig Salon offers free fittings and emotional support provided by caring and compassionate volunteer cancer warriors.  Our online shop provides high-quality wigs to everyone.

By purchasing a wig on our site, 100% of the net proceeds will fuel Cancer Kinship's mission to help uplift the spirits of those affected by cancer-related hair loss.

We're looking for a passionate and creative marketing intern to join our growing team!

In this role, you'll play a vital role in crafting engaging content and implementing marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and drive sales for our online store built on Shopify. You'll gain valuable experience in the e-commerce marketing world, working alongside our team to learn the ropes and contribute fresh ideas.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation:
    • Assist with creating engaging concept descriptions, blog posts, and social media content that resonates with our target audience.
    • Conduct research on current trends and competitor analysis to inform content strategy.
    • Help with photography and videography (optional, depending on your skills and interests).
  • Social Media Marketing:
    • Develop and schedule engaging social media posts across various platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest) to promote products, our mission and build brand awareness.
    • Monitor social media conversations and interact with followers to build relationships.
    • Analyze social media performance metrics and report findings to the team.
  • Shopify Website Management:
    • Assist with updating product listings, including descriptions, images, and pricing on our Shopify store.
    • Help maintain the overall website appearance and user experience.
    • Learn and implement basic SEO best practices to improve website search ranking.
    • Update template pages when needed.
  • Marketing Support:
    • Assist with researching and implementing new marketing initiatives and campaigns.
    • Track marketing campaign performance and report results.
    • Stay up-to-date on current marketing trends and technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a marketing, communications, or related program (preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest) and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Capcut, Repost App,…).
  • Experience (or willingness to learn) with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms (a plus).
  • Creative and analytical thinking with a keen eye for detail.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and a team player.
  • Eager to learn and contribute to an exciting and positive environment.
